September's meeting will be our Annual Club Picnic. On Tuesday, September 19th we'll meet at 5:30 PM at Joe Thornton's home to enjoy a cookout. This is a family event and all are invited.
Joe has some tables and chairs but bringing a lawn chair will insure you have a seat. The club will supply all of the Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, rolls and condiments. There will be plenty of bottle water but you're welcome to bring a cooler with a beverage of choice. We ask that all attending bring a side dish (salad, vegetables or desert) and challenge all to use honey in their creations. Take up the challenge and bring the recipe as we'll all want to have a copy!
There will be baskets of donated items to be given away as door prizes during the picnic. If you have too many bee related items around the house and would like to add something to the baskets you're more than welcome to make that donation.
Many of us have made a harvest of surplus honey. We'll have a table setup for Honey Tasting. Bring a sample of yours or something you've purchased in some far away land and let us all give it a taste.
You don't need to have bees - you just need to want to talk about having bees with those who do! A good chance to show someone interested in beekeeping what it is all about.
So make up a covered dish with honey, grab some lawn chairs, load up the family and come out and join us!
